students' life in the context of high inflation

The old women have given her daughter all her salary this month.
“Mom! How can I live with just a little money like this?  I have to pay for renting house, electric bill, and water bill. I just have 300.000 dong rest for a month. How can I live?” This is a scene in a film about the students’ life; however, it is not in a film but also the truth in our life nowadays. Just a little money in the context high inflation; how can we live? How can we spend our money? Almost we depend on our parents. Our parents’ salary does not increase while the prices of good is increasing and increasing. I wonder how can i live in this “price storm"?

Inflation causes a lot of negative affects to people especially students who live far away from home in many respects such as: living standard, studying condition and spirit. First, students’ living standard is lower and
Lower; students become their parents’ economic burden than ever. In comparison to 2 years ago, when inflation did not happen at all, students’ life seemed to be quiet easy. However, with the loss of the cost of money nowadays, the prices of necessary goods rise rapidly. Students have to pay more for food, oil, electric, water and transportation… For example, 2 years ago, with 1 thousand million VND I can live without scaring about money; nevertheless, in this “price storm” with just a little money like that. I have to pay 500 thousand VND for renting house, 200 thousand for electric and water bill and the rest is 300 thousand VND. It is just enough for 3 weeks and the rest week I have nothing to eat. At the end of the month, I “make friend” with noodles. Unfortunately, the price of noodles is higher than it was in the past. All most the prices of goods increase while our parents’ salary does not. My father retired, each month, I receive 1 million thousand VND- all my father’s retiring pension. But it is not enough he has to give some more. When parents’ salary does not increase that means parents can not give more money for their studying. Inflation makes students’ living standard become lower and lower rapidly than ever.

Second, inflation causes bad affects to not only students’ living standard but also studying condition. When students do not have enough money, the common solution is finding a part-time job. On the one hand, students can earn some more money to support their life but on the other hand, students can get distract from school. Spending all their free time even all day to do part-time job makes students totally exhausted. They do not have time for relaxing and sleeping. Day by day, they do not have a balance diet and “ make friend” with noodles, students can not concentrate on lesson any more. As a result, their grades are lower and lower. In brief, inflation gives students very bad result than they have ever imagined.

Finally, inflation causes the loss of the cost of currency that make students’ spirit uncomfortable. It is clear those students whose parents consider poor have many problems in using money. They have to think of the plan how to use money effectively so as not to be hungry at the end of month. With just a little money receive from parents every month, they do not have chance to take part in some outdoor activities. As a result, students’ life is boring and no more challenging. Do not have opportunities joining outdoor activities means do not have chance to refresh their minds, apply knowledge in practice, and find some useful information from life come around us. In this “price storm”, students’ life is more and more difficult not only in physical but also mental condition.

STUDENTS' LIFE IN THE CONTEXT OF HIGH INFLATION

 1. Anecdote:
The old women have given her daughter all her salary this month.
“Mom! How can I live with just a little money like this?  I have to pay for renting house, electric bill, and water bill. I just have 300.000 dong rest for a month. How can I live?” This is a scene in a film about the students’ life; however, it is not in a film but also the truth in our life nowadays. Just a little money in the context high inflation; how can we live? How can we spend our money? Almost we depend on our parents. Our parents’ salary does not increase while the prices of good is increasing and increasing. I wonder how can i live in this " price storm"?

2.Relevance:
I was born in a small and poor family. Both my mother and father are worker. Every month, I receive 800.000 dong from them. I spend 500.000 dong for renting house and water and electric bill, the rest is used for buying food and something necessary. I have a part-time job but it is very cheap.  Therefore, I just have enough money for the first week and three week later, I “ make friend” with noodles. I know that my parents have to work really hard to support our life so I do not demand more money from my parents. However, I wonder how can I live like that in 4 years in this inflation like that?
3. Contract:
At this time last year, I just spent 7.000 dong for my lunch in canteen; however, this time now, I have to spend 12.000 dong for my lunch. The prices of goods have increased rapidly from 7.000 dong to 12.000 dong, it is nearly double. What makes this? The answer is the inflation. The high inflation makes students’ life more and more difficult because of the loss of value of currency. So how can I live in this " price storm like this?"
